Few more months until launch... I hope AMD will release some concrete specs before then.

Well they never said RX Vega specifically was on schedule for a Q2 launch so they are still technically getting Vega out during Q2 just not the version most of us on here care for.

Another over hyped AMD product keeping people dangling in the hopes of something great. Got to ask yourself, "why showcase a gpu in crossfire?"

Only people who over hyped it was the tech community themselves.

As for the launch date itself, Pretty annoying. You can blame HBM2 though. It's the reason for such a delayed launch in the first place.
I am not buying Vega anyway, so to me it's not a big deal, but to those that waited I can see the frustration.

This^

I am fed up with the Tech Zealots on other forums who never actually buy or use the cards they hype up.

To AMDs credit they are not guilty of doing any hyping.

AMD should never have gone with HBM in any form until it was well established.

If they had released the Fury X with GDDR5 and an air cooler, it would have been considerably cheaper and easier to produce even with 8gb of VRAM as standard.

As to Vega it is not going to be fast enough to justify using HBM2 and again GDDR5X would have been cheaper and more suitable just like the Titan Xp uses.

I know GPUs take years to bring to the market but really AMD should have taken the decision back then to use GDDR5(X) and leave someone else to be the test rabbits.

I tried to wait for Vega but July 27th is just to long. Guess I'll be going Nvidia.

It's possible AIB Vega cards may not be available until September or even October. I'm rather sad for AMD, particularly in light of Ryzen's success, something's obviously gone horribly wrong. I could see the tinge of embarrassed awareness in Dr. Su's eyes as she got through the RX Vega news.

It's highly possible that Vega (even the stock one) will not be available until September. Not in any volume.

Which would be exactly the same sort of time scale they released Fury X on around two years ago.

I really wouldn't worry about it. I can't see Nvidia doing anything before then any way, well, apart from spitefully dropping their prices a few days before the launch. Which again is a douchebag move and Nvidia fans will be rejoicing
