Intel 18-core i9-7980XE CPU leaks

It looks like Intel is pulling out all the stops to compete with AMD Threadripper.

Read more on Intel's new 18-core Skylake-X flagship.

Special thanks to The F34R Channel for bringing this to our attention.

18/36 core/thread CPU? That's wicket! I'm just going to pretend it's not going to cost a cattle ranch

Okay, I admit that this is a flawed way to look at it, but the 18/36 Xeon processor on Newegg is $2,800.

I wouldn't be surprised... it's a good estimate - although the i9 7980XE will probably have far less cache but slightly higher clocks

For Intel prices they are going to be very fair for the entire lineup. Mark my words...

Spending upwards of £1000 every year on a single CPU, Probably £2000 per year going forward, Is a little insane dude, Go on a holiday, I know this is your hobby but there comes a time when an intervention is needed

I can see you at OCUK "Hey man, Got anymore of dem CPU's ? I just need 1 more I can stop whenever I want to"
