So it looks like no process improvement, not even a minor one...

Kinda disappointing, I was hoping for 1400 MHz stock clocks for the 580

Pass they will run too hot for me and this still will not be an answer to Nvidia GPU's lol

I don't get why they are releasing this when Vega is supposedly close

Polaris refresh is for the lower end, while Vega is for the high end

You need to remember that the clock speeds for the 580 are in overclocked 480 territory, we will need to see what aftermarket versions and overclockers can do.

The clocks of the 580 are the same as the highest aftermarket 480s available, so aftermarket variants could go higher. We won't know until reviewers and end-users overclock them.

Looks like they are still using the same old crappy reference coolers which is going to nerf the S**T out of them, lets hope the AIB partners make them effective

Haha, yeah. Naming schemes are a bit strange ATM.

Last gen it was the GTX 480 RX 480 comparison.

Or when the i7 6800K launched when AMD already had an A10 6800K APU a few years earlier.
