I wonder if the ASUS Crosshair VI Hero will be the top end Asus mobo or if they will come out with a ASUS Crosshair VI Extreme or Formula type mobo.

Well I'm not moving over to AMD for my main rig, I'm getting a 6900K pre-owned for cheap from a work mate who upgraded to a 6950X so no need to swap over but a mate of mine is wanting to upgrade to the 1800X from an 8320 and wants to get the best mobo that is released.

You got lucky.

But i think these super high end motherboards aren't going to be cheap if ASUS made a ASUS Crosshair VI Extreme i would think they would probably end up costing like $449.00.

Yes i know still cheaper than Intel but if people want the best they have to pay that kind of money.

I imagine that there will be higher-end options after launch. I imagine that there will be demand for a version with a PLX chip for extra PCIe lanes.

One way to look at it at least this time these motherboard manufacturers are putting in the effort this time to make nicer looking motherboards, Most of the older AMD motherboards look like crap compare to these new ones.
