1700 is an amazing price. Just over three hundred notes. Mind you the other two are decent as well.

I really hope these prices are right. I'd love to get a six-core CPU and an X300 motherboard for ~£350.

Looking at it they are obviously targeting the 6800k and up with the 8 core range.

Over $100 less and two extra cores and threads. That's quite a jump !

I have no doubt at all that you should be able to attain your goal though. If the most expensive 6 core starts at £300 for example then the cheapest should be £200 or so, meaning you have £150 left for a board. Which would be mid/high end.

R3, R5 and R7 compete with
i3, i5 and i7? Funny enough Let's just hope not to get disappointed, because my next PC might be running an AMD CPU then!

£60 difference for 100MHz? Good lord they're pulling an Intel! Plus I still stand saying that the R7 1700X is way too overpriced if it's supposed to compete against the i7 7700K. And before mentioning that the R7 is an 8C/16T CPU and the 7700K is an 4C/8T CPU. By that logic shouldn't the 4C/8T R5's be competing against the 7700K?

Hard to know if that is the only difference TBH. My hypothesis is that the Non-X Ryzen models will come with decreased TDPs, which is an important factor for system integrators etc to consider.

Similar idea to the AMD FX 83XXE series CPUs, from the previous generation.
