You sound surprised; BenQ already have a Freesync monitor with that frequency range. It was one of their first 1440p 144Hz monitors. I've owned it for a year now and it was out for months before that.

I'd prefer 30-120hz tbh for 1440p. 45-144 would be better suited for 1080p

That's the ideal range, yeah. I've never had a problem with 40-144Hz, though, especially with AMD's software that simulates the benefits of G-Sync.

Heh, my apologies, can't keep up with everything. Those are impressive specs nonetheless. Makes much more sense than the monitors with a ~15hz range.

Quite a few people have missed the BenQ that I have. It's one of the better ones available today for pure gaming, but it's rarely mentioned on the forums. It's weird. My one only has two dead pixels, which is far better than the crap I'm seeing from ASUS and Acer. ASUS and Acer have amazing features and specifications, but the quality control is not there, at least a year ago when I was looking for a new panel.
