you asked when you showed these on FB which one would we have, at the time I was undecided, but now I'm leaning towards the 1060 it has slightly better performance and less power and heat. If I did it would be the first Nvidia card I have had since the geforce 3

If these cards are more less equal in performance I would take the 1060 every time time because it cums much cooler. I don't need to introduce and unnecessary heat inho my case that is necessary.

No, you will not be able to get by with "crap" drivers. Think of DX12 as tools, its up to them to use it. Tools do not replace work.
