Surprised they haven't done this with Polaris? I would assume those products are more sought after and they offer an already compelled reason to get them, unlike Pile-driver? They would probably sell more using the 480 and maybe something like LoL stuff for the 460?

They should have done this for the 4xx series, No one in their right mind would buy an 8 series CPU since Intel has cheaper more powerful alternatives out and not forgetting to mention the beastly Zen is only around the corner.

Well the RX480 is cheap as it is considering. It will sell fine on its own.
