Intel Skylake-E will reportedly use Intel's new LGA 3647 socket, use 6-channel DDR4 memory and feature more PCIe lanes.

So the CPU will go back to having actual pins, like the AMD chips? Rather hard to tell with that image, but those look like pin holes.

It does look like it judging from the picture they do look like holes and not pins

It specifies LGA - Land Grid Array, not PGA - Pin Grid Array.

It's LGA, so either that socket is still not populated with pins (being a pre production sample, I assume) or the pins are so small that they don't look like other LGA pins under that light.

sadly the picture isn't great, but it is all we have right now.

Look at the CPU cover and it specifies LGA,

so no moving your old CPU cooler over. This is going to be a nightmare for either manufactures to make 2 of all of their coolers pushing prices up, or we are going to be left with little choice for this socket.
Cant wait to see them running though
