Hideo Kojima has officially left Konami and is forming his own Studio.

Read more on Hideo Kojima's official departure from Konami.

It's the best thing to do in his position imo. Konami didn't even allow him to attend the Game Awards this year to accept the prizes MGS V won, as stated in the article. Must've been hard though, leaving behind the Metal Gear-franchise. All the respect for him!

He has been unofficially out of Konami for ages, but it is great to see it become official.

They basically let him go and held him in with a contract so that they could sell as many copies of MGSV as they could. The poor guy didn't even get to finish the game properly, the second half of the game is a mess.

It will be god to see what he can do on his own. I'd like to see a new story from him, MGS got a bit insane after a while.

I see! I knew what Konami was doing was bad, but I never expected they would let him go but keep him from doing his own thing. It really does shock me how much Konami has changed - and not in a good way.

That being said, I really hope Kojima will work on a P.T. / Silent Hills type of game. It probably won't happen, but, I mean, he is talking with Sony, and P.T. was a PlayStation-exclusive. Oh well, I guess only time will tell!
