Well it seems that VR games being made are a interactive tech demo rather than fully fledged games. Devs are having the same issue as they did with the Wii, great idea on paper, not quite sure how to use it. I always said that VR would be great for immersion but a difficult sell in the long run. Simulators will benefit greatly, but ultimately unless its a game that has a very specific type of 1st person view, its very difficult to implement.

yeah. I want a VR game that is not just Eve Valkyrie. I want a game, not a tech demo that i pay for.

I need a VR Far Cry, Crysis or even a driving game.

I think the issue with FPS games being VR is the 360 view that will ultimately have you facing all sorts of directions while trying to not get tangled up. Driving games would be awesome, much better immersion for finding that apex and breaking point. Plus that ability to quickly check to the side of your car etc.

Well you see it's hard to imagine new innovative ways for VR to tackle upon and open up new Genres or ways of playing if you haven't experienced it yourself. I'm sure they are plenty of games and devs out there already doing just that. Just gonna take sometime

Personally I think history settings would be cool. Like AC you getting to walk around the city and being in VR you get far more immersed. Or in RTS games like CoH/TW where you can become a character and see how the individuals are reacting and how they are fighting to stay alive etc. That would be awesome imo. Although we are an extremely long way away from that point

Still, I'd rather studios play around a little with these small games/demos and see what works for VR. Seems better than investing millions into a AAA VR title that might flop and put a lot of developers off VR. Just my two cents.

I thought that was the point of all these demo's? Trying out and seeing what works before trying to make a full blown game? Eve Valkyrie is the only one i know of atm that is going all out with a full blown game.

Flight/Space/Driving sims are a no brainer. They will be the bread and butter depending on how many of us can use the VR without any negative side effects.

I'm interested to see what they come up with and I think VR really excels at immersion or 360 degree video - there are plenty of videos out there where you're in the back seat of an F-18.

The next generation Street view or mapping software would be a great start as well. Imagine walking down your main street (online of course) and being able to overlay the 1940s streetscape or see old ruins recreated as they once would have been. Go to the colosseum in Rome and watch gladiators etc.

I think devs are understandably focused on showcasing the feature tech and not so much the game play. This will come.

It's going to take some time.
