AMD Fiji Die shots found - Architectural advantages explained

Die shots of AMD's R9 Fury X have emerged, giving us a great chance to explain the many changes, including the many hidden benefits of HBM memory.

Read more and see the Die shots of AMD's Fiji GPU.

I'm not saying that 1984 is a bad book, but the dystopia we are currently living in has much better worldbuilding.

Not much information was learned but the things we did learn were interesting. I think one thing you should have added to having the HBM stacks on die in addition to the heat from one location, was that by moving all the memory closer to the die/memory buses it also effectively reduces latency which is important in every scenario including VR which is very very sensitive to latency.

But either way it's nice to see some die shots. Shame it's so late after launch though.
