Solid State Hard Drive Versus HDD

Intel's Robson Technology claims to increase system responsiveness, make multi-tasking faster, and extend battery life for the new Santa Rosa platform. We have provided you with a small taste of what's to come. Please take into account that the OS itself has a lot of influence on boot times as well when watching. Care to comment? Feel free to do so below...

well tbh, im hoping that they will come to the point that u store 512mb or so of neccesary system files on the NVRAM section of the disk, and only spin up the disk when they need to get uneccesary files (eg fonts) as that would SIGNIFICANTLY boost startup times

I still think the solid state will be ALOT better. Less heat, less time, faster, what more could you ask for.

I have a 32GB SSD. Initial testing shows a 33% decrease in Vista boot times..... but thats the only test I have done.

seems a good idea to me SSD is to expensive for hit and miss performance and not enough GB space, so unless SSD's get cheaper this could be a player
