CM Storm have taken the brave step of utilising Hybrid Capacitive switches in their latest keyboard, and we take them for a test drive.

Too basic for my liking. Wasn't even that bothered myself about keyboards until I got my Ducky (I'd had no experience with any fancy keyboards before that) but love mine.

I'm sure the keys feel great, but there needs to be some sort of lighting for a start. Heres hoping to something better from them in the near future.

Edit: Oh yeah so basically I wouldn't go back to a keyboard with no lighting lols.

I don't get the review, what else are you after?

Topre keyboards have always been aimed at the typer - not the gamer and this is a much more affordable model than a Realforce. Although it's part of the CM Storm range they don't market it's gaming qualities.

It types well, it stays on the desk well, its constructed well and it offers everything you'd need on a Topre board including cherry MX keycap compatibility.

Also, I find TKL boards much more ergonomic as they can sit in the center of your desk without pushing the mouse mat too far to the right.

I didn't know they were not offered at gamers, but the price point you can get similiar to other keyboards with more bells and whistles so I think the keyboard should be cheaper at least for it to compete.

Compare it to similar keyboards, i.e. with Topre switches and it suddenly becomes better value. It's like comparing a membrane to cherrys and saying the membrane board has more bells and whistles for the price..

i have a quickfire tk brown pseudo tenkeyless (i need my number keys) and i love it for the size but i'd definitely take this over the tk for the function keys. staring straight at the screen, i can still see my big white function keys glaring at me. oh wait, this doesnt have backlighting? no.. no thanks.
