I'm confused. There will be desktop broadwell-CPU's, right? Not just those low powered ones?

Nonetheless, they look pretty decent, and that TDP even more so. Quite interested in how the new Intel HD Graphics will be performing too.

I think that is a very reasonable guess. What happened to the days the new desktop CPU's from Intel would hit the shelves in april though?

There's no real competition actually for intel's i5s and i7s from AMD, so why put them out now when they're not needed? The time will come. That time will be when AMD desides to update their AM3+ CPUs because they're getting really old.

Well considering Z97 was touted as the socket for Broadwell and seeing as Intel just love new sockets I can see Broadwell needing Z97 MK II.

Funny thing is, the other engineers at intel working on Skylake have had less troubles on 14nm and its rumored to still come out end of 2015. Products such as laptops probably won't be out by 2016 though. Interesting to see them release these so close together. If they weren't under pressure because of mobile then i think they wouldn't care as much... but power draw is a serious issue so they are forced to release asap.
