Nvidia G80 Will Launch In November

Yep you've heard it here. Nvidia's G80 is on it's way, and it's bound to be costly from the start. As we've been saying on the forum for a while...hold off on that gfx card purchase; well now you'd better start saving. What do you see the benefits being for Nvidia releasing a DX10 card, even before there is an OS to support it. Feel free to discuss below.

btw ATI have said that DX10 parts WILL be backwards compatible with DX9 parts

Good to hear, and so they should be imho. Why should someone be disadvantaged significantly because they don't have the latest and greatest?

I wouldn't say Windows Vista is the greatest.

But just hope that nVidia don't do with DX9 what they did with AGP.

They soon back-tracked on that farcical decision.

yeah they did to a degree and released the GS. But at some point people do need to upgrade, unless all they do is word docs and casual surfing on the net
