Intel really need to pull their fingers out of their asses manufacturing these chips.

If they don't get them out of the door soon, the hype surrounding them will fade and ppl may put off buying one.

I can't believe that they manage to make the best chip on the market for the first time in years, and then screw up the releasing of it.

I heard a rumor that the Canadian lanparty Fragpooloza is on that date and they are giving away 5 Conroe X6800s with well i am going to let them say it.

Quote:
Bet that made your framerate skip. So here’s the deal. Intel and MDG are holding a killer competition called the Xtreme Core Conflict. Fragapolooza registrants must submit your PC design including the hardware, gratuitous styling and, of course, the name under which your rig will be feared. From the responses we’ll pick the top 5 contestants. If your ideas impress an esteemed panel of judges, you will be chosen to engage in a head-to-head battle to build the ultimate gaming PC within a time limit, while the Fragapolooza crew is cheering you on. We’ll provide all the top PC Hardware including a brand spanking new Intel® Core® 2 Duo Extreme X6800, as well some extra goodies for you to pimp out the ultimate gaming machine. When the dust settles, the rigs will be judged and only one will survive.

Now check this...

The survivor will get a $5,000 part-time Gaming Consultant contract from MDG Computers. Not only that, your design could be used as the foundation for MDG’s new Gaming PC product line. So now you’re dying to know how to enter, right? All you need to do is send us a photo or sketch of one if your designs, plus a quick 50-word paragraph on why you can build the most awesome gaming machine on the planet. Contestants for the competition will be notified before Fragapalooza starts.

X6800's are on the retail shelfs as we speak, its the rest of em that have screwed release dates and mad delays. They always release the mother chip first to force people to spend as much money as possible if they don't have the willpower to wait for the lower end chips.
