Until Dawn has been rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5 for PC and PlayStation 5

That's quite a remaster imo. A full remake on a new engine. Usually it's just 4k textures and a color palette change to make it look "new"

I really enjoyed that game but... Better visuals aren't gonna make me forget the story. Sony must want money to offset budgets on other titles because this is a quick and easy upgrade for a game that wasn't very popular despite the hype.

Surely if they were honestly doing it for the benefit of themselves and gamers they would have picked a better game for such an upgrade... How about bloodborne? Hell how about just a 60fps patch? Considering a "hacker" has patched it via simple tweaks to run at 60 even on PS4 pro Sony must be capable of flipping the same damn switches on PS5... Sigh

Could be a pilot to see if they can turn a mediocre game into a top seller. If they can achieve it with this, it might become an incentive for many more top tier titles.

Nothing would be more disappointing than remaking one of your best, and it totally flops.

The original developer created the game using Decima, the Guerilla Games(killzone series) engine, then there "follow up" title was moved to UE4.

I don't think the game ever launched but if they have experience with 4 I assume they been working on 5. Makes sense for them to make the switch and bring the game up to 5 since they've been all in on UE since I think 2019.

Sony might have just wanted to put them to work on UE5 so they could get experience releasing a game and hopefully they can help others too. Who knows. It's a good game I don't see the issue with it.

i have it on PS4 never played it, more reason to try it when it hits pc then, thou gotta say unless you want them early no point owning a console now.

only reason i got the 2nd hand ps4 was for ffvii remake.
