Doubt it'll be used for these gen cards. It'll probably be for super high end cards that have low volume and are less effected by low yields.

Wow, that's exciting. I can't see this appearing in the next few years, but the potential could be awesome.

Spectre Next Generation is Coming Whether we Like it or Not

Quote:
According to the folks over at c't spectre isn't over it's just moving on to the next generation. They say Spectre NG has been confirmed as eight flaws in Intel CPU's that haven't been revealed yet and that some ARM and possibly AMD vulnerabilities are possible as well. So watch out people because this ride is just getting started and you can't get off yet. Thanks cageymaru.

So far we only have concrete information on Intel's processors and their plans for patches. However, there is initial evidence that at least some ARM CPUs are also vulnerable. Further research is already underway on whether the closely related AMD processor architecture is also susceptible to the individual Spectre-NG gaps, and to what extent.

Main problem ATM is that everything is linking to a single source on this. Hard to know whether or not this is real. Will keep my ear to the floor and see if there is anything to this.

I'm curious to see if people claiming Z370 will support the 8 core Coffeelake part is true or of it's another Intel move to get people to buy a new chipset, I'm betting on the latter, Intel don't care about their non enterprise customers.

Would be nice, Then I'll get it and sell on the 8700K for a little profit, If not though I'll just replace my 1800X with a 2700X for slightly better renders/folding.
