Sorted out my power distribution now. Significantly tidier with a lot less in the way of extension leads.

Powercon connectors are superbly made, wish they were used more.

Main breaker unit powers almost all of the hifi and my pc. Only the hardwired plugs remain for the pvr, dvd and bluray players, which go into the 6 way 13A block.

The two way socket is used in addition to the 6 way block for my external devices. (phantom psu, hdd psu and chargers)

The main bulk of wiring that goes to my desk now goes up the leg instead of spaghetti across the wall.

I also dismantled my newly acquired tannoy studio monitors to check the condition of the crossovers. I took the opportunity to give the cabinets a good clean and wax/polish.

One 10" monitor gold woofer/tweeter assembly.

All reassembled in a very clean walnut cabinet.

Those speakers are bootiful

Does all the wiring not cause some kind of interference / feedback / signal noise back there?

[pre-derail-warning]
Edit:Speaking of which, quick question. My dad's got a 7.1 receiver wired up to a nice KEF 7.1 setup. The Subwoofer 'hums' when it's on and powered. I've narrowed this down to some kind of noise coming through on the 230v socket it's plugged into. It's coming from the receiver itself. This thing has been sent back twice and the shop doesn't get the same result when they test it, so it's not the receiver (hopefully).

The house has v.old wiring and there isn't another usable socket within a suitable distance to re-route power.. Is there anything available to put between said A/V setup and the socket to clean this up/remove it?

He's had a sparky in (who didn't seem to conceptualise the issue properly and thought it was an earthing problem) and he 'tested' the outlet and apparently it's fine. He didn't understand what I meant by noise, and it's all earthed fine...

Any suggestions mate? (Sorry to derail, but seeing all that gear, just makes me think you'll know :P)

Cheers, good to see some people appreciate quality vintage gear.
Nope, no interference from anything. The sign of a good amp is decent noise rejection. Coax signal cables may help a bit too

Do you know if the noise is coming from the transformer on the sub amp or is it being amplified through the woofer? If it comes from the woofer, does it still happen if you unplug the input from the receiver?

Noise wise, i'm assuming it a low frequency hum? (50Hz hum, rather than high pitched interference)

Newly acquired iiyama PLH540S 21" panel matches the dell 24" perfectly especially now that i have 1920x1080 + 1600x1200. (the cursor used to jump slightly as the vertical resolution on the AG Neovo panel was 1280x1024) Really need to get a colour calibration tool as getting the colours to match across both panels is very difficult. (dell favours greens/blues, iiyama is more red/yellow) I doubt it helps that the dell is an s-pva panel and the iiyama is (AFAIK) an ips.

Feck I missed this response, been busy.

I believe it's coming from the amp. it seems to stop when you unplug the sub from it and yeah it's low frequency if I recall. (although I haven't been and listened/checked it in a while).

Probably worth trying out an isolation transformer between the sub and the amp. (in-line with the signal cable) A quick and dirty test to see if that would fix it is usually to pull the earthing connection on the sub/amp. (if there is one) But obviously that's not without it's safety risks and certainly not a good idea longer term.

The obsession gets worse. Collected some more speakers and amps on friday. No idea what i'm going to do with them as i can't use them all at once. I'll end with one for each day of the week if i don't stop collecting stuff. I'm starting to have a hard time deciding which i like the sound of most too.

Having spent some time listening to the Spendor's, I've decided that whilst they do sound excellent, they are outclassed by the Tannoy super reds. My room is a major mountain of cables and audio kit at present due to the massive amount of changes I'm making. It'll soon be at a point where i could probably run my own recording studio if I'm not careful.

Headphones have also gotten out of hand too.
