I just came back from the gym and there were grown men and women acting like they were about to die, I swear I've never seen so many snowflakes, No pun intended.
I don't get the mentality these days, we used to walk 2 mile to school every morning even in heavy snow and stay there all day with busted heating. People are losing their minds panic buying bread and milk taking to Facebook like some sort of modern day survivalists I've already been down the local nursing home twice this week to clear their car park while pansies are crying on social media that they're cold. Some guy stopped me on the way to work and said I was mental for cycling. mountain biker for ever!

This sort of response is getting boring though.

I think a few people seem to forget that our snow coverage here is completely sporadic. Countries like Norway and Russia, where they know for a fact it will snow can plan ahead. Did anybody expect snow storms at the start of march back in December? For instance, switching to spiked tyres is standard practise in Russia in winter, who in their right mind would buy them for England for the 1 week of snow we might get. This is why the country shuts down, it's not economical for the 1 week (if that) a year of snow we get to fully prepare.

Also it is quite serious in rural areas, quite a few people have actually died.

Aye my missus is 5.5 Miles away out in the sticks on the tops between Derbyshire and Yorkshire she has no water, no bus service and her nearest shop is 3 miles away thankfully we were warned ahead of time and she's pretty much stocked up. Doesn't stop me feeling useless though as I can't get to her.

With snow everywhere there is plenty of water, just avoid the yellow stuff.

On a serious note, I hope your missus gets home without too much trouble.

Only 14 years ago when I was in college I walked everyday in winter with the same weather as now over 3 miles every morning and so did dozens of others, It seems now everyone has to moan about weather, I find it to be very odd behaviour, It's weather, It's not new

Even now I walk 2 miles to work everyday and over the last few days people have been saying "OMG you walked to work how did you do you do that ? OMG like OMG", Response like that from people at least to me are getting tiresome.
