I also had a response to the message I sent through their website which reads:

"Hi,

Thank you for contacting us.

We are currently waiting for delivery from our supplier for the product you ordered, our suppliers were out of stock and they mentioned that it will take up to 2 weeks to order so we should receive the product sometime this week.

Regards
PC Nation Team"

Now honestly I don't intend on believing this for one minute and will be asking for a refund to be processed today. If they fail to do that then I will pursue the charge back tomorrow.

According to the product page this cooler still 'ships in around 2 days'. My arse.
Yeah get your money back and find a different store

When they state it ships within 2 days its usually meant from their warehouse.

If its not in stock, they could be telling the truth it can take up to 2 weeks before they get it from their own supplier. I have to wait for 3 weeks or more for some products I purchase from my local store.

What they did wrong was lack of feedback, but it could very well still be legit.

Deal.no is also terrible at informing customers about this same information, but the product arrives in the end...

It appears that my little Facebook campaign worked. I called them back and they explained that they were awaiting stock which was expected to arrive "by the end of this week or early next week". Crazy. So I asked for a refund.

I don't know how much of this they are making up but I don't have a problem with waiting for something to come into stock if the price is right and as long as I don't have to wait too long vs another store. In fact recently I had an email from another company with whom I have a pre-ordered product which has been delayed by about 5 weeks due to a manufacturing issue and I have absolutely no issue with this because they informed me straight away and gave me an option to cancel and refund my order there and then. As it happens I decided that the product and service were worthy of the wait.

What wound me up with PCNation was that they didn't contact me at all. In fact I had to go to quite some lengths and wait nearly 3 weeks to get any kind of response which frankly has worked out worse for them than it has for me. The guy I spoke to on the phone actually had the cheek to ask me to remove the review on Facebook so I know it was that which got the show on the road. I almost laughed and said I'd consider it AFTER I got the refund since there's another review up there of a guy who waited 3 weeks more to get his refund after it was agreed.

In the meantime I ordered the same product from Scan which arrived in under 2 days at the cost of £0.68 more.

the best advice I can give is that you should buy stuff from e-tailers that have drop off shops near your location, or you know that they have actuall retail shops. Personally I'm buying stuff from e-shop.gr and plaisio. Now plaisio is a retailer there are shops everywhere so no problem. E-shop is an etailer but they have drop off stores where I can recieve the things I ordered but most importantly, meet a representative (sort of) the company. There are many e-tailers in Greece that sell things A LOT cheaper than e-shop but I never buy stuff from them because I don't trust them at all. So better be safe than sorry.

Problem is a lot of the enthusiast shops in the UK have no store presence and if they do it's a single store such as overclockers and scan.

The best thing we have as enthusiast stores in the UK are chains like Maplin which don't offer much in terms of high end hardware or independents which whilst I feel bad saying this and would love to support have to charge much higher prices and therefore are v unlikely to get my business when i can get quick delivery and far cheaper prices online

There aren't a lot of enthusiast stores in Greece, sadly. Not any that I really know of, if there are there are going to be small businesses in the big Cities of Athens/Thessaloniki/Patras (patras will have a lot I can assume, the best university school of IT is there)
