Intel challenges AMD to "beat us" in "real-world" gaming with Ryzen 3rd Gen

AMD: "beat us on performance per dollar".

i really don´t care if intel is a bit faster at 1080p.
since 2013 i have never thought about buying a 1080p monitor.

2560x1440 is the lowest resolution i would even consider buying.

intel milked the customers for a decade (inlcuding myself).
as long as intel does not offer 20% more performance overall, for the same price, i will buy and support AMD.

All Intel have done is shown how worried they are and they should be, Intel match them on price oh wait you can't see how that works :)

LOL, that fact is buying a 9900k for 1080 gaming is the most ridiculous thing ever.
So at that resolution you'd really need to look at a lower price point.. sayyy 3600 vs i5-9400. Those are numbers I;d like to see.

Or some testing at 1440p, or 1440 ultrawide. Sure i9-9900k vs 3900x, that's a good comparison.

This! Today
£250 sent with intel vs £250 spent with AMD. i5 8600(no K and im letting intel off by £5) vs Ryzen 7 2700.
You could argue either way, Intel's CPU is newer and wait till zen 2 drops and then argue that AMD's chip is newer. Either way today, if im buying a CPU for £250 those are my best options from overclockers.

"may not reflect all publically available security updates" and that "software and workloads used in performance test may have been optimised for performance only on Intel microprocessors",

So these aren't real world tests intel optimised it to make them look better in the best case scenario

What would be really funny is if AMD wipe the floor with intel and this challenge become a meme all over their forum/social media outlets

it really does look like intel is panicking, and once you disable hyperthreading... their perfomance gets wrecked. Then the performance per £ spent is even worse.

I completely agree. By making this statement Intel really have put themselves in a situation where they have everything to lose with little to gain and vice versa for AMD. The marketing team must be very confident in their product, stupid or both.

Edit:
On this, all AMD needs to do is pit two equally priced systems against each other.
A value CPU rest with the rest of the money in GPU.
Then do benchmarks comparing gaming and content creation :P
AMD cpus are great value right now so they will be able to spend more on the GPU and still compete in the other benchmarks

Who would use a $500 CPU on a 1080P monitor? I think these test are valid to a degree but they did say "REAL WORLD" after all.
