So i tried using the turbo method, seems to be good until 4.2, 4.3 crashes at the desktop or before. I reckon im missing something (probably obvious knowing me), because the volts arent changing in accordance with the clock, even though theyre set to auto. The volts (according to cpu-z) stay at 1.144 under load at 4.0 and 4.2ghz, and even go up like they would in a normal overclock when not under load and the multiplier drops back.

pete, you are missing alot in providing the processor the proper tweeks to get the system stable.
areyou using an UEFI BIOS overclock or a manual overclock over-ride? you might wanna let OC
Genie take a shot on an overclock and view the parameters of how it got there and tweek from
there, accordingly.

Pretty sure ive got it sorted now. Reset everything to default and had another go with the turbo method. With LLC set to level 7, volts under load at 4.3ghz dont drop below 1.208 which is where i had it stable before. Idle, it drops to 1.6ghz and 0.984-1.000v.

Yea that's what I saw under load too. The auto settings gave me about 1.1v regardless of what clock I set.

Sounds ideal to me. I guess you didn't win the lottery but that's still a great performance increase! Did you try getting an extra multiplier out by setting a tighter LLC? (That won't affect idle volts).

Not yet, the temps seems to get a bit rowdy when i stress test at 4.4ghz, but now that the volts arent gonna be fixed there all the time, im much more inclined to give it a shot at some point.

Cool, well you aren't missing out on much by keeping it at 4.3 anyway. It won't be worth it if temps are too hot.

Nice IB oc guide
I use the 24/7 fixed methode, because i run [email protected] 24/7 and i also use it for normal daily use.If one takes the time itll run for ages
I only reboot when i update windows.

Specs:
Cpu-3770k,4.5ghz @ 1.18v with NH-D14
Mobo-Asus M5G
Ram-Gskill Trident-X 2400mhz
Gpu-Msi HD5770 Hawk
Psu-Seasonic 620w
SSD-Corsair Force GT 120gb

Its way overkill for my use,but i like running Folding @ Home 24/7.
