Corsair M90 Scroll problems

Recently I have been having problems with the scroll wheel on my M90 mouse.

When scrolling either up or down it will stutter and force scroll in the opposite direction at random without any change of rotation. Narrowed it down and it is definitely not a individual software problem as it happens in multiple browsers and programs such as the adobe suite, firefox/chrome.

As well as multiple different machines.

Firmware version of the mouse is at

Any suggestions? or is this a fault in the hardware? Thanks.

I've heard about this on Roccat Kone [+] mice as well (which is what I have).

Mine just went away after a week of not using it. I was on holiday and when i returned the issue had gone. I've heard from several people that a drop of WD40 on the scroll wheel is supposed to help as well.

Alright, let's try to flash the mouse's FW;

Stop everything M90 related, then uninstall the SW. Once you have done that, then do the following steps:
Control Panel > Power Options > Change Plan Settings > Change Advanced Power Settings > USB Settings > USB selective suspend setting > Disabled

Then run the Firmware update tool.

Alright little bit of a late reply but Firmware updated using the dropbox download link you provided, however still encountering the same problems with the scrolling.

Have a feeling it's a hardware related problem rather than software/firmware.

Any further advice Greybeard? Thanks.

Thanks for the update Cypto.. sorry that it didn't help. I'd have to agree, it's more like a hardware issue rather than SW/FW.

Go ahead and submit an RMA request here and once you get a ticket #, let me know what it is so I can help you out process it a little quicker.

Thanks Greybeard the ticket number for the RMA is #6182903 if you could find a way to save on the costs of me shipping it back that would be all the better.

No problem. I've got that approved, and also sent you a message about the postage. You'll get an updated from our customer service once they have everything sorted out.

Out of interest where can I check up on the progress of the RMA Greybeard, the corsair.secure.force.com doesn't say anything.

However never received an email from Corsair about UPS coming to collect it, they just turned up so had ending up scheduling the collection for the day after.

As far as I know UPS have collected it and its being sent to corsair in the Netherlands.

*Just an update and a big thanks to Corsair and Greybeard. UPS delivered the replacement mouse today along with it being a nice upgrade to the M95.
