Arrow MSI Next Gen Mobo Sneak Peek - RGB Audio & M.2 Shield

A few snippets of what's coming up on our soon to be released next generation motherboards.

RGB Audio Line

Fully customizable RGB Audio Line that highlights the physical isolation from the rest of the PCB - Typically this has been one colour only (red or white).

M.2 Shield

Helps lower M.2 PCI-E Gen3 x4 SSD temperatures to maintain maximum speed and prevent throttling. Tom's Hardware example below, FYI;

The editor tested 2 SSDs from Plextor, one with heatsinks (M8Pe(G)) and one without heatsink (MP8PeGN). The one with heatsink performed 40% better since the cooling will prevent throttling. Read more @ http://www.tomshardware.com/news/msi...ink,33106.html

...Not to mention it looks damn good and hides those nasty green PCBs found on most M.2 SSD's

People love dem RGB's... what you on about... >.<

I get it. Honestly. There are those who will like to have this feature, especially if the rest of the design was a certain colour but the audio line remained red for example.

You can turn it off if you wanted to though (or pick a block colour).

The audio line was one of the worst parts of my CHVFZ. I could not turn it off either

It used to stay on when the rig was turned off too, really annoying.

I like RGB's just not on Motherboards is all, I'm sure there's other people like me who don't like them or who prefers using things like the NZXT Hue+ or RGB strips.

woh woh woh.. since when did M2 SSD's throttle? is that a memo I missed?

RE the audio isolation bar... is there an option for 'off' ? :P

Also if it's for isolation.. why does it have LED's in it that will cause some measurable level of voltage to be applied on / near it... thus.. rendering it.. useless?

Yep, you can turn it off via the Gaming App software no issue.

Actually not sure about the isolation side - Yes, it does ensure the purest audio signal limiting interference from other electrical "noise", but how much so I couldn't tell you (even with added LEDs).
