what would you choose for a gaming rig?
I was just watching these on you tube and was wondering what the general consensus would be on what would you choose for a gaming rig?

We might need a budget, otherwise there is not really much to say.
But in generell don't do crossfire at the moment and don't use a 50 € with a 690. Thats pretty much it.

Money no object or for a small form factor I'd run straight to Intel & Nvidia. In a more budget-y situation (~£750 or less), I'd probably go for an AMD based system and spend the spare cash on a better 'card and other upgrades.

Silly thread is silly.
If you don't know what is required to make a decent gaming PC then you really shouldn't be here IMO.

Isn't that what the 'New build advice' section is FOR? I mean; people come to exactly the right place for advice here, mate.
On-topic; The frame-rating issues only happens on AMD graphics cards and doesn't apply to their CPU's. Both processors are quite equal and in the end it will probably come down to personal preference (not fanboy-ism).

There is no such thing as a general consensus, it depends entirely on budget and usage.
Why can't you just give us a rough budget, also it would help to know what sort of games you are planning to play.
Even if this is just theoretical we still need some clues.

Ok then lets go with a budget of 1024 Euro Shillings and must have 16Gb of 2400MHz ram (2 sticks) A gtx 770 with 3 Gb's of ram as a min, and I was hoping to be able to run it all on a 450W psu.

Well if power is an issue, then go with intel. Much less power draw :P.

But he's not here for advice he's here to start an argument.
As others have mentioned it depends, it depends, it depends.
