Hmmm... maybe AIB partners won't be adding big overclocks after all.

They're not going to want to break the tdp too much. They'll leave you to consume over 300w yourself.

A while back I said that I was worried that Navi may be hot and a power guzzler. Apparently at 2.2ghz under water it consumes 330w. Not sure whether that was the whole rig or just the card but yeah. Not good really.

Was similar with the 1366 CPUs. Overclocking was great but so we're the power consumption totals.

Well ASRock used to be part of ASUS so maybe ASUS dumped the personel they had in surplus or were less impressed with into ASRock when they bought themselves out.

That was GPU draw for sure. At 2100mhz core / 1200mhz HBM, I can make my Radeon VII *alone* suck nearly 400W from the wall depending on load (I saw a peak of 384W).

It wasn't GPU draw, it ended up about 250W (Over stock 215W) under heavy gaming. Navi is pretty much exactly Polaris power draw levels.

Oh wow, nice! That's actually quite decent, a lot better than I was expecting. I should stop comparing my VII to this new stuff, it's obviously not the same kettle of fish.

Nah it's lightweight. That's why AMD did the bait and switch with prices because they knew Nvidia couldn't drop prices too much because they're back on tank cores.

Best decision AMD tech have made in years tbh.
