Anyone ever imported hardware from mainland Europe?

Hi,

New here and I hope i'm posting this in the correct forum, apologies if not.

Seems like certain countries get to buy all their hardware a lot cheaper than we do so it got me thinking about importing since i'm in the market for a new monitor. The new Acer 1440p Gsync screen is going for about £700 over here and 750 euros (£550 approx) in mainland Europe. Does anyone know why we have to pay so much more? I thought being part of the EU meant we shouldn't be subjected to any special taxes or anything.

Has anyone ever imported and is it something you would recommend?

Thanks

We pay more in England because, Well, They can charge more and no one does anything about it, England is known as the golden isle to many companies because they can charge a lot more than other places mainly due to the fact that no one stands up to them.

Honestly we are screwed on so much in the UK.

Last time I imported from the EU it cost me a total of £30 but still ended up saving over £200 on an item.

And every time you're sick you can just walk into a doctor's office without paying a $100 co pay. Nor a $30 co pay every time you collect your prescription every month, nor $500 just for calling an ambulance nor $400+ a month for decent health care.

Maybe you should venture out into the rest of the world for a bit and see just how it is before you complain how bad this country is.

The UK is the best country I've lived in and I've lived in a good few. Nowhere else looks after people like we do, nor subsidises them if they fall on hard times like we do. I spent a decade in the USA and I'll tell you it was hell.
