air or watercooling my 7870

would watercooling be better to get my xfx 7870 black edition from 70-75c or could i install better fans to get the temp down


i have a shinobi xl with 4 fans

2 cm sickleflow
1 120mm bitfenix spectre
1 200mm bitfenix spectre

Not worth it mate. The PCB is most likely custom. You could create a custom fan curve so that the card is a bit more aggressive in cooling itself. I used to have the single fan 7870 and 70c is about normal. The cooler is pretty poorly designed.

Try looking at the Raijintek cooler we have just used. I certainly wouldnt buy a whole watercooling kit for such a cheap card.

70C load for a GPU is good though.
