Meh. UT and Halo had a kid and called it toxikk. Neither of those games is really my type. Far too slow.

Just btw, there are like 10 Arena FPS currently in development.

Reflex, which is the most promising from pretty much every perspective. It features an engine developed from scratch made for the best input possible, an easy access level and demo editor, which allows multiple people to edit a demo or work on a level together on a server while at the same time playtesting it. One of the developers used to work for Euclideon, a company known for the unlimited detail engine. Reflex will be close to Quake 3 CPMA, meaning that it will be the fastest of all new arena games with an insanely high skill ceiling. Reflex is currently in pre-alpha, Kickstarter is expected to come by the end of the year.

Project Nex A mix of UT and Quake, it is supposed to be very accessible, basically keeping the speed of Quake but making the execution a whole lot easier. Probably the most promising casual arena FPS game. Project Nex is currently in pre-alpha.

Reborn Basically wants to be like Reflex, but it's a mess. It has the hype because 2GD is working on it, but really they seem to have no plan of action. They've changed the engine multiple times, progress has been rather small in the past two years since announcement.

Unreal Tournament Huge loads of hype behind it, it's going to be wrecked because they involve the community too early. Basically the game those people are excited for who claim to be oldschool fps players but really haven't touched a single one since UT2k4 which they've played for 5h tops. Usually loudly complaining about how ed FPS games are atm even though they've actively supported the companies which led to the current state of FPS gaming. /rant

+ a load of other Arena FPS games which are being developed mainly by people who really have no idea what they are doing.
