Forthcoming Intel Xeon E5 family will be separated into 4 subfamilies, based on intended market. Xeon E5-4600 will support up to 4-way servers, E5-2400 and E5-2600 will target 2-way servers and workstations, and E5-1600 series will work in uni-processor systems. In the past months we reported on details of E5-1600, E5-2400 and E5-2400 families, whereas model lineup of E5-4600 family was not known up to this moment. On Saturday January 7, 2012, Intel added Xeon E5 box part numbers and S-spec numbers to Material Declaration Data Sheets (MDDS) database. This addition confirmed processor numbers of one- and two-way Xeon E5 chips, and revealed E5-4600 processor numbers:

According to MDDS database, Xeon E5-4600 series will consist of at least 8 models. Xeon E5-4603 will be based on Sandy-Bridge-EP-4 core, which means that it will have 4 or fewer cores. Remaining 7 processors, including low-power E5-4640L and E5-4650L CPUs, should have 6 or 8 cores. Xeon E5-4600 box part numbers, related processor numbers, and associated S-Spec codes are listed below:

Code:
Model number Box part number S-spec(s)

E5-4603 BX80621E54603 SR0LF

E5-4607 BX80621E54607 SR0KU / SR0JL

E5-4610 BX80621E54610 SR0KS / SR0JJ

E5-4620 BX80621E54620 SR0JP / SR0L4

E5-4640 BX80621E54640 SR0KT

E5-4640L BX80621E54640L SR0JK

E5-4650 BX80621E54650 SR0KJ

E5-4650L BX80621E54650L SR0L3 / SR0JN
The database lists only one chip from E5-1600 series: Xeon E5-1660 with box part number BX80621E51660, and two S-spec numbers SR0KN and SR0H2, perhaps with different core steppings. Two other E5-1600 SKUs, expected to launch this quarter, are E5-1620 and E5-1650.

The MDDS database has 7 SKUs from E5-2400 family. This list is incomplete, as it doesn't include 5 low-power Xeons from the series. These microprocessors will be available in Q2 2012. Model, s-spec and Box part numbers of standard-power processors are provided below:

Code:
Model number Box part number S-spec(s)

E5-2403 BX80621E52403 SR0LS

E5-2407 BX80621E52407 SR0LR

E5-2420 BX80621E52420 SR0LN

E5-2430 BX80621E52430 SR0LM

E5-2440 BX80621E52440 SR0LK

E5-2450 BX80621E52450 SR0LJ

E5-2470 BX80621E52470 SR0LG
These Xeon E5s will be released this quarter:

Code:
Model number Box part number S-spec(s)

E5-2603 BX80621E52603 SR0LB

E5-2609 BX80621E52609 SR0LA

E5-2620 BX80621E52620 SR0H7 / SR0KW

E5-2630 BX80621E52630 SR0H6 / SR0KV

E5-2640 BX80621E52640 SR0H5 / SR0KR

E5-2650 BX80621E52650 SR0H4 / SR0KQ

E5-2660 BX80621E52660 SR0KK / SR0GZ

E5-2665 BX80621E52665 SR0L1 / SR0HB

E5-2667 BX80621E52667 SR0H3

E5-2670 BX80621E52670 SR0KX / SR0H8

E5-2680 BX80621E52680 SR0KH / SR0GY

E5-2687W BX80621E52687W SR0GX / SR0KG

E5-2690 BX80621E52690 SR0L0

Might as well, seeing how much you're likely going to be spending

it won't me mine. it'll be mine to use, and my little project, but... unfortunately, it'll be owned by my company

Oh, at least you'll get to use it. I on the other hand can only dream of such a system (for the time being).

current talk on EVGA's forum puts the release date as march 2012 not sure if this is right they are going on the logic that what we have seen of it so far indicates it is more than likely ready to be released at the same time as these chips

also this thread from there should be of interest to you lot
