AMD's upcoming Ryzen 7 2700X processor appears on Geekbench

Impressive scores when compared to a 1700X.

Read more about Geekbench's Ryzen 7 2700X benchmark results.

impressive results, I wonder how much it would improve on the newer chipset

For reference, This is an 1800X running at 4GHz with 3400MHz memory.

That 1800x result also has much faster RAM along with more L1 and L2 and L3 cache

Just remember that cache sizes are often misreported on benchmarks with pre-release hardware.

If AMD can end up doing better work with slower DDR4 memory, Ryzen 2nd Gen will offer a great boost over Ryzen for gamers, especially when combined with higher core clock speeds.

With Ryzen 2nd Gen it's a very "wait and see" kinda deal, will it offer more than a standard Intel Generational upgrade. Will this be AMD's Kaby Lake? I'm certainly looking forward to finding out.

So this time, 1800X at 4GHz BUT with memory running at the same 2400MHz as the apparent 2700X, nice little performance jump, wonder how much more it will increase if the 2700X was equipped with 3000MHz or more memory.

I kinda wish I had waited 4 months to get mine now but as I was on an old A10 6800k I got a massive upgrade as it was.

Nice find Dice. I agree, it would be great to see the 2700X with faster memory.

Yeah, but there would always be that " If I wait for XXXXX" moment, same applies to video cards and pretty much everything else PC. Wait for Vega, wait for Navi etc, it never ends.

It is only worth waiting when the new release is imminent.

Faster than either of your scores. That's pretty good imo for a stock CPU.
That new boost 2.0 is really working wonders

Precision Boost 2.0 doesn't work on X370 motherboards, It's exclusive to X470, Meaning it was beating both my scores without it
