Games and consoles are two different things. Every console and platform has a "few great games"

Wii U was a terrible console. Nintendo even admit Wii U was their greatest failure. The real reason for the failure, is that they designed the "U" to compete with the rising mobile market, not Sony and MS consoles.

Wii U was a good piece of hardware though, maybe just abit over engineered and over priced for the direction the marketing side of the company wanted to go. Sure it wasnt a pure number crunching beast but in terms of features and as a general living room Swiss army knife it was abit insane in terms of bringing new features, and of course the fact that for years it was the only way to play many of the best games of the 8th gen.

I would say its design was a flaw unto itself.

Great you had screen on the controller to sit in other spots to play. The drawback was that you could not be more than 27feet from the console. Also walls heavily impacted the design. As I said, it was trying to behave like a mobile device but tethered to a spot which limits you from the start.

On a good side.. the Switch would not exist today had it not been for the Wii U
