Ikeas stuff is so vastly overpriced as it's all very low quality in general, Mix in the ROG branding and it's severely over priced junk.
its used to be decent quality but cheap. Times have changed
At the end of the day, that is what most people only need for a desk.
They shouldn't be changing hundreds for cardboard filled desks.
Now that's a fair point... Kinda realized it right after I had posted my previous post![]()

IKEA desks have been the only affordable way to get an adjustable desk without all the fluff that furniture shops insist on including. The quality of the materials are pants, but until someone else comes along and offers something better, I don't see myself using another option.
To be fair you can get a Linnmon top with 4 Adil legs for like £20, the surface on the Linnmon is a bit nasty and won't last but the hex arrangement inside means its relatively strong, is it not still cheaper to get a Linnmon/Adils and just put your own wood top on? Does anyone know better alternatives that doesn't break into vastly different price points?
Yeah I've looked at the custom route, I'm somewhat experienced with woodwork and don't mind putting the time in, just whenever I look at the full custom route it seems to end up looking quite a bit more expensive for essentially the same result as a say Linnmon with 5mm of MDF screwed on top when factoring in shipping, and tool cost and such, and time is money when self employed too ofc
After all, solid wood is a lot more expensive per volume than some very cleverly put together MDF and thin air, Ikea's internals are quite smart and I've definitely put those desks through their paces (jumped on one), they're ridiculously cheap, just got an easily scratched surface.
Not sure what Iigloo is I'm afraid, all I can see under than name is insurance
