Ikeas stuff is so vastly overpriced as it's all very low quality in general, Mix in the ROG branding and it's severely over priced junk.

For most of Ikeas existence they've sold cheap crap but they had prices to match, Now it's cheap crap and high prices.

I got a desk from there that cost upwards of £200 not long ago, Found out the inside was cardboard strips and the outer part was just hardboard.

At the end of the day, that is what most people only need for a desk.

They shouldn't be changing hundreds for cardboard filled desks.

Sometimes its not the material but the tech used

Goretex material is cheap as hell to produce, yet the layering technique used makes it stupidly expensive. (i know, i know, quite an extreme example but just trying to make the point)

Its over charged for sure, but the honey comb card within is impressively strong. I wouldnt mind the cardboard inside since it makes it light and still strong. My issue is the terrible quality finish on the exterior.. takes almost zero effort to scratch the surface.

They don't. Only their cheapest desks are filled with cardboard. And they are dirt cheap.

IKEA desks have been the only affordable way to get an adjustable desk without all the fluff that furniture shops insist on including. The quality of the materials are pants, but until someone else comes along and offers something better, I don't see myself using another option.
