You'd think that this competition will ultimately lead to lower prices across the board, but in these times, I think the exact opposite will happen... How much is that 3090 Ti/Super supposed to cost, given the chip shortage is still a thing?!

I hate to think. There are still cars with 1 year + waiting lists because of chip shortages. The cost of these things at the moment is ridiculous

It's easily be a 2k card at least in msrp the price they will actually go for who knows might need two wallets for that, i've avoided so much of the stress with my card and how i got it, but the prices are disgusting these days.

The Waiting Game

Perhaps I can buy the 3090 TI in 2023 for a MSRP at $4000. Considering that prices in general will go up! And if the chip shortage prevails I need to get a second job.

I will hazard a guess at £1800 MSRP but more likely those who buy one will pay well over £3500.

The 3090 is supposed to be what £1400 for the "Founders Edition" and then the Aftermarket card's would be around £1600+ but from what I can see you are looking at £2500 for a 3090 and that is a PNY card of all cards on air, with the Zotac Pre-Blocked 3090 being £2400.

This has nothing to do with "Stomping Intel" this is purely because they have chips available and want to sell them.

Intel will not as much as I want them to for the sake of competition, but Intel will not compete at the high end unless they have a miracle card for what I believe is there first "Dedicated GPU".

Price of GPUs is just crazy, I saved up £200 for a 2nd hand GPU and cannot find one.
It is mad that 4/5 year old GPUs are being sold for more than they cost when new.

A fool and their money... If you buy one (f it actually happens) you might as well have "Sucker" stamped on your forehead.

Why? There are hyper expensive products in almost every area of business, finance, and economics. That must mean that ALL of these products are for suckers, which is not just silly but also rude.

Think of it this way: if you earned £100k per year in your job and you had a choice between a 250g bag of £5 coffee that's been roasted two months ago on a shelf at Lidl, or a 250g bag of the rarest most delicious coffee that was roasted fresh just a few days ago for £30 by your favourite local roastery, which would you buy? If you liked coffee and earned £100k per year, you'd probably buy the £30 bag. A £15 bag would taste delicious too and be ethically sourced and roasted in your area, but you have the money for the even better stuff so you pay it. That's perfectly logical to me. That's what I'd do.
