I'll take 2 please, BobLol, I wish.
I want to see what can be done with this card with overvolting! If it overclocks that well by just upping the power limit slider, then upping the volts must give even better results.
I do feel sorry for all the people that bought the Titan though, everything from the 780, 290/x and now the 780 Ti is just a slap in the face to the people that spent £800 on it.
I guess those who have the Titan have deep pockets though so they won't be bothered. Has anybody on this forum got a Titan? I don't think there is..?
I do. Its in the box

yea, so much for the "nvidia won't have a reply till q4 2014 because they don't have anything" theory, took them one week. rekt.
i wonder what AMD's reply will be, a 290x running at 150c because "that's what it's supposed to run at" or a 295xXx? even aftermarket coolers and patches won't make up that gap. i hope they at least have something, else the price won't go down anytime soon. kinda doubt that though considering how long it took them to have a reply for the 780, now maxwell cannot release before q4 2014, else it looks dull for AMD. but i don't think nvidia will kick them out, wouldn't do them any good either.
i don't think anyone will be pissed off about you saying that the 780ti made the titan look pathetic, the titan has always been pointless to buy, but at least it ends the god damn 290x = titan for less money argument.
this was definitely stronger than anything i expected, i thought it would slightly beat the 290x, but in heaven this even beat 7970 royal ace CF which is just insane, too bad i already got a 770, but it's not like the 780ti is currently in my budget anyways.

A good friend of mine has a 290x on water at 1.35hz @ 55deg spanking the pants off the 780ti by around 15%. Of course you have to factor in the watercooling costs but for those of use on watercooling already you can get a 290x and a block for less than a 780ti.
Id argue the lower temps+ better looks + lower noise + cheaper/similar price makes a 290x a very attractive proposition.
On air with reference the 780ti is awesome, but at this price many will be watercooling imo. Which makes the 290/290x or cf a better idea imo

Can we stop with all childish "Nvidia this and AMD that" BS FFS?
I'm so sick of everywhere I look people making stupid comments about Nvidia vs AMD. Please go to 4chan if this is the kind way you want to talk about things.
Stop looking at as one manufacturer VS the other and look at it as which card is best for YOU and is best for your money.
Some people will be happy with the 290/x and the noise wont bother them, some people will be happier with 780 Ti. Either way what ever card you go with you have great performance, all that matters is which one you can afford and which one is best for you regardless of who makes it.
Stay with 780 SLI *clocked at 1202/3402* or swap out for 780 Ti SLI, worth the hassle and money ?
spanking the stock clocks or the overclocked 780ti? also the 780ti hasn't been under water yet, so i think that the 780ti could spank the 290x quite badly there as well. if you are right though, that could mean that the prices of the 780ti would drop, which would be amazing.
are the better looks about the block or the stock cooler? because that stock cooler of the 290x looks cheap as shit and with a waterblock + backplate they'll pretty much look the same.
so under water the 780ti will look the same, be just as quiet, probably even be a bit cooler and most likely bash the 290x to hell, idk the exact price difference though, as TTL said, it's all about what you are willing to pay, but tbh 100 quid don't make a lot of a difference in a fully watercooled rig.
don't think that the 290x is an equivalent to the 780ti at the moment, it's competing with the 780.
Of course thats an excellent point. A water 780ti may indeed squeeze more out the gk110, however as many have pointed out the stock cooler is so good how much more is there to give?
Ill agree the stock cooler of the 290x is useless, but on water that does not matter. A water 290x v a water 780 ti im willing to bet will be trading blows, with the 290x significantly cheaper.
The age old thing will happen. If you have unlimited budget, 2 780ti's on water will give the ultimate performance, while 2 290x's on water will give 95% of the performance with the same temps and noise but at 25% or more cheaper.
Then its upto the user to decide.
