That's a bit pathetic. No performance numbers, no more news on Direct-ML, no specific launch date, no pricing, no word on stock improvements, no word on non-X variants of Zen 3.

Why should they talk about stock improvement? There's literally nothing they can do. They can't force their retailers to get their systems fixed to prevent bots.

Literally every market that requires Semi Conductor products is struggling for supply. 2 plants in the US for car production is shut down for a week. There's nothing more AMD can do. All fabs are at 100% capacity.

Because it's a serious issue that needs recognition. This isn't just the normal supply issue. Acknowledgement is a good thing. You can still talk about something that you don't have a lot of control over. They spoke about products that aren't ready yet.

Those products they have control over though? It's directly theirs.

I mean they maximize their orders they are allowed to. They're also under contract for a certain numbers of wafers and you can absolutely bet they are getting as much as they can. They definitely don't want to be fined for not ordering enough. Especially with the publicity that would bring.

I just don't think they need to say "we're ordering as much as we can" when it's obvious every market is. Everyone is complaining about lack of stock. It's not like they aren't aware.

I just don't see it as a big deal. The worst part is people being so materialistic that we have this situation in the first place imo

You say this yet I'm not the only one who was disappointed by the keynote.

For me personally, while I'm not in the market for any hardware right now, I don't like seeing a public bet from AMD about RDNA2 being a paper launch and then no acknowledgement of that falling flat.

If I get an emergency phone call while at a restaurant with friends and have to run out for half an hour, when I get back to the table, I would acknowledge it and say sorry. I'd explain the situation. I didn't have any control over it. I was doing the best I could. I'm just acknowledging a situation humbly. But maybe that's just me.

To be honest, man, my initial comment mentioned multiple reasons for seeing the keynote as pathetic. If all that was wrong was no mention of stock then I never would have commented anything negative, because as you say, they don't have much control over it. I added it as a cumulative thing, not as a primary point.
