I Finally did it.... sort of

After having asked for build advice like the noob that I am, and the build advice saying, basicly, that I should upgrade my graphics card from a GTX 1060 to..... I settled on an MSI RTX 2070 Ventus. I didnt want to go nuts with cost because I knew the new line of GPU's would be out in a couple more months time, and I just couldn't stomach another 2 months wait.
So, the old unit goes like this:

Intel 3820 socket 2011 4 core 8 thread CPU @4.6Ghz
Asus Rampage IV mother board
16 GB G Skill 2133 DDR4
Gigabyte GTX 1060 OC Windforce, 6GB
Pioneer BD-RW (Yes, I still use the blue ray player, if not the burner)
Samsung 830 Pro, 120Gb SSD
WD Blue 250GB
WD 1TB Blue
WD 2TB Blue
WD 500GB Blue
Corsair H100i v1
Corsair CM750M Bronze PSU

So, thats 2xSSD+3X HDD+1xBlue Ray RW.

The system was starting to feel sluggish, hence me asking for build advice. There was nothing wrong with it, don't get me wrong, I just knew the modern stuff was a lot faster.

So, I started with an MSI GTX 2070 Ventus.
Yes, it made a difference, but not as big a difference as I would have liked, so...

The following fortnight I bought the CPU, Motherboard, and DDR4 RAM.

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming, with 8 SATA ports
16GB Corsair LPX CL18 ram (2X8GB sticks)

The following fortnight I bought a Gigabyte 1TB NVME PCI-E Gen 4 M.2 SSD with copper heat sink. (Thanks to TTL for the excellent review - the Sabrent was not available in Australia.)

The next fortnight I bought a Fractal Design Define 7 (after asking advice in the forums and getting recommendations that didnt suit my needs) which I absolutely love. This case is the bees knees of cases. (Thanks to TTL for the excellent review, which really made my mind up that this was the case that would fullfill all my needs.)

The following fortnight I bought the Fractal Design Celsuis+ S24 Prisma, 240mm AIO cooler. The sad part is, it was damaged from the factory and it took 6 weeks to get a replacement, due to a connector being attached during shipping (bad decision on Fractals part)

So, having kept the drives and moved them to the new system the system now looks like this:

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming, with 8 SATA ports
16GB Corsair LPX CL18 ram (2X8GB sticks)
MSI GTX 2070 Ventus
Gigabyte 1TB NVME PCI-E Gen 4 M.2 SSD (boot drive, into windows in 15 seconds)
Pioneer BD-RW (Yes, I still use the blue ray player, if not the burner)
Samsung 830 Pro, 120Gb SSD
WD Blue 250GB
WD 1TB Blue
WD 2TB Blue
WD 500GB Blue
Fractal Design Define 7 case
Fractal Design Celsuis+ S24 Prisma CPU cooler with RGB
Plus another matching 16GB Corsair LPX CL18 ram (2X8GB sticks) for 32GB total
and a new CM750M semi-modular PSU
Cooler Master MasterKeys CK550 V2 RGB Mechanical Keyboard - Red Switch
Logitech G402 Hyperion Fury Gaming Mouse

The cool things are.... I still have 2 SATA ports available to whack in another SSD or two, or go nuts with 2X4TB Western Digital Blues, bringing my total hard drive space from almost 5TB to 13TB by adding two very economical WD 4TB drives, and then add another 1TB Gigabyte drive just like the one I already bought, for 14TB in all. Sorry not sorry, but the Meshify suggestions just cant cope with that kind of storage.

My old parts went to my 19 year old daughter, including my old case and Corsair H100i, and her old parts went to her mother, who only wants to play Heroes III LOL

So, in the next month or so, I will add said Gigabyte 1TB m.2 Gen 4 NVME drive and two more WD Blue 4TB, not that I need it, It will just be cool to have

I have to say that this CPU is easily four times the processor of the 3820

If I decide to, and I'm seriously thinking about it, I may upgrade to a Ryzen 9 Zen 3 5900X and RTX 3080 or 6800(XT) so my daughter can have my old (new) parts, only having to buy a motherboard and I get some CL15 G Skill RGB DDR4 @3600Mhz.

Hence the case advice for a Meshify C, 2, whatever did not suit my needs. The Fractal Design Define 7 was really the only case that suited my needs for a BR drive and 5+ HDD spaces, and it will handle up to 14 HDD.

Pics will soon follow.
