Having used a pair of Asus Matrix 7970 cards in a case with average air flow it is something I would never do again. Non reference AIB cards are ok but only if you have really good airflow, otherwise they are a liability.

So correct me if I'm wrong here Kaap... A Titan Xp is actually better than the 1080 Ti FTW3 in a case such as the Dan Case A4 SFX (and NCASE M1)? Whereas, according to your reply above, the FTW3 might actually be a liability in such a small and compact case?:

I would only use a Titan Xp in those cases, this is what cards with reference coolers are designed to deal with.
