Thanks for keeping the quick news thread updated over the weekend. I was away at a church retreat with my GF and some friends.

https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?pa...eBSD-Optimized

Netflix was able to optimize their FreeBSD network stack which nearly doubled their Intel throughput to 191Gb/s and tripled AMD throughput from 64Gb/s to 194Gb/s.

Best part is it takes 2 Intel Xeon CPUs to reach that network speed whereas only one AMD CPU since Epyc has far more PCIe lanes.

Corsair QL Series RGB PWM fan, Comes in 120 and 140, Looks good but the price is ridiculous, £29.99 each, If they were on the same level as Noctua's NF-A12x25 PWM fan then yeah but all that cash for lights, Madness.

Yup, most RGB fans are madness if they have a brand name on them that isn't Chinese. For RGB fans these days, I prefer Fractal Design Prisma AL120's, PWM variant. Daisy chain RGB right to a motherboard header, controlled by Aura / Fusion / etc, but also 2.87mm H2O static pressure, so excellent radiator fans. But yeah, $35CDN each, and I need 7 for my next build.

Via unveiled a new x86 SoC with an AI unit in the uncore, [email protected] with AVX512 support, DDR4, and a ~200mm^2 die on TSMC 16nm (~Ryzen 1 size), on the AI side of things it's the first x86 CPU to support the BFloat16 number format (Allows very quick conversions/truncations) and VNNI.

TecLab modded a 2080 Ti to have memory modules from two 2080 SUPER cards, raising its memory bandwidth from 14 to 16 Gbps.
