Replacement Headset needed.

So recently I have gone through two pairs of Kingston's Cloud 2 headsets, each one having the same problem of poor cabling leading into the earcup and eventually losing sound. I plan to try to go through with another RMA but at this point I have kind of lost faith in Kingston's products so I am asking my favorite Tech forum for a recommendation! For around 150USD - 200USD I am looking for a headset or headphones oriented around good base, immersive gaming audio, and pretty good overall sound quality for when I just want to kick back to my trance tunes. I've been looking into the Sennheiser Game Zeros but I would love to get other recommendations before I just go ahead and spend my money.

I've not had much luck I this department either CM Storm Pulse R headset and 5 cable replacements, great headset just a bad design.

Now I've gone dedicated for audio I'll never go back to headsets, meteor mic, sennheiser hd518 headphones and a fiio headphone amp.

If your still wanting a recommendation the Corsair void looks the nuts.

Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 250 Ohm.

Great bass and overall sound.

Hmmm...Do you think I should just go for the HD598s? They seem absolutely fantastic but I worry about that open back a bit.

Open back gives an amazing soundstage although if you have anyone else in the same room they will hear exactly what you hear

I am horrifically tempted to have a snicker at what came to mind in that scenario, oh what the hell lol. I hear a lot of good things about it, but I read awhile back that open backs are not really good for Dubstep, Trance, Heavy Rock and that type of music which is my primary music choice, is that true or just a load of bull?

As Dicehunter said, also you can also hear background noise too at lower volumes.

If you like a good music experience then I can highly recommend the Beyer 770 pro 250 ohms, Closed back, Awesome sound and really good bass.

Personally I wouldn't get the Voids if you like music as that is where they fall short, Good for games but not for music.

$159.99 with free shipping from Amazon, A very worthwhile investment

Good point, Open back is not recommended if you have other noises going on around you.

I will certainly keep them in mind, but for some reason their styling is not setting right with me. I cannot really put it into words but the cups just seem to bug me for some reason...I think I am just partial to metal accents

Well keep in mind that with headsets you are mainly paying for the styling and the design team, Not the driver on the inside
