Really like AMDs version of this, being able to view all the data on your phone makes life a lot easier.

Right, releasing a tool producing false data makes sense, especially when it can be verified somewhat easily.

You can take the sarcasm elsewhere. They could easily report Nvidia as higher performing or misreport certain functions. It's not open software.

And someone with their own FCAT setup can point that out, which would lead to a PR disaster. I'll take my sarcasm elsewhere if you curl your tinfoil into a ball and take it to the nearest recycling facility.

They CAN misreport things is the point. They can claim they have the most accurate readings because they built the GPU or whatever.

Absolutely no tinfoil hat. I wouldn't trust AMD either if they did it. Can claim whatever they like until results come in. Until then and with no open source software development I don't really care what they have to claim or say.

This does work through open API's to be fair and is cross compatible with other vendors GPUs and systems only by supporting those other companies APIs, it mostly just implements readers for these APIs that you could easily read via other software to compare with, they're just billing this as an ultimate all-in-one reader.

Remember that this uses PresentMon, which is an open source tool.

Nvidia's secret sauce is the power stuff. Don't trust that if you don't want to. I certainly won't, especially when it is used to compare GPUs across vendors.

I'm going to have a look at this over the next few days and see how good it is. To be honest it doesn't take much to beat presentmon in its raw state. Even AMD's Open Source OCAT isn't great.

This is what I was referring to earlier. They can misreport lower or higher power stuff.

Didn't know PresentMon was open source but at least that side is taken care of for accuracy.
