System fan 2 not controllable on Z270I Gaming Pro Carbon AC

Hi all,

I have a Z270I Gaming Pro Carbon AC motherboard but the system fan 2 doesn't seem to work. It doesn't report RPM nor does it allow any kind of throttling.

Both the system fan 1 and cpu fans work fine.

Fan is a Cryorig XT140.

BIOS is the latest.

Any ideas?

James

To answer my own question; this back from MSI tech support:

"Regarding your concern,we are sorry, there is no System Fan2 in BIOS or Command Center, you can not adjust the speed by option System Fan2.But you can adjust the speed of the System Fan1,the speed of the System Fan2 will change at the same time."

So looks like I need to use a speed limit cable to quieten it down.

So they are linked? Well could set up a profile if you wanted?
Otherwise yes, use a molex to a 3 fan y splitter. If you use a pwm, then just use a pwm hub
