der8auer Delid Die Mate - CPU Deliding tool

Always wanted to delid your CPU but found it too nerve wreaking...? der8auer created a tools just for that! It will support Skylake, Haswell, Devils Canyon and Ivy Bridge. (Thought Ivy was soldered though?)

The tool will be made available at Caseking.de soon. I'm defo buying one my self!

Sandy is soldered. Ivy was where Intel started getting cheap on us.

Im glad i didnt buy a sandy, a soldered IHS wouldnt even have crossed my mind, i would have found out the hard way.

If you had a sandy you wouldnt need to delid it, its only because intel didnt solder the IHS after sandy and used crappy TIM that people saw the need to delid.

Handy little tool that! Prevents people from damaging the chip pretty nicely (Like knocking transistors off the bottom *cough* MrKambo *cough*)

It wasn't getting cheap. The smaller the die the easier it is to crack or damage during soldering. That's why they stopped it, nothing to do with money.

The bigger cores and dies are still soldered.

That is a really good product. If it works well then I think a lot more people will be deliding very soon.
