journey through the depths of the interwebz to look for more info about this ancient
art. After finding a few things here and there (NASA has a nice instruction manual
on lacing) I then took what I'd learned and worked out this technique.

The trick was how to make if free-floating. A very similar technique is used to tie
cable bundles to what looks like small ladders, but of course I don't have the
structural support of that in my PC case unless I build little ladders everywhere
(which would just look ridiculous ).

So I had to figure out how to get the same look, but without the structural support
by solid tie down points.

"Snip, Sorry"...

Na, that was all me.
Originally all the wires were unsleeved and naked.
Nice find and thanks for sharing again!

Yeah, as i said I thought the cable braiding looked very good, just didn't know it had the cable lacing in it too, thought the braiding was like that.

Good work man!

Love the positive feedback from you guys, I ordered some blue lacing for my personal rig and I will post some pictures here once it gets here. I think alpenwasser already thanked most of you so I will not reply to everyone, but I read all of them and I still appreciate it

And here is the after, I'm not totally happy with them especially with the pci power cables but I will get them fixed eventually. I just got a job in IT and I need to settle down before doing some more work, started on Monday :P

Oh, that was already pretty tidy before.

About the PCI-E cables: You could try lacing them in one package of 14 wires to get it
into a more ordered state, that's what I do. Makes for one clean flat bundle.

And congratz on the job!

Yep I know it was pretty clean and I must admit I was pretty happy about it, but I think you'll understand me for wanting to change something, in fact, I needed to change something lol. I can't believe the pci idea didn't come to me before, I guess I was in a hurry to do them I skipped the thinking part haha, but anyways thanks for the heads up

Oh yes, I know that instinct. Despite still not being done with HELIOS my fingers are
already itching for changing things on other rigs in my household

Ah well, sometimes the obvious escapes one. I've had it happen countless times,
most crucially in university exams
