It wouldn't fit my build, but there's always the future.
And it's OK, we can't all have the same tastes now, can we?

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to putting it all together.

GPU looks awesome! That's a small touch that stands out BIG time. Can't wait to see all this copper / black put together!

Indeed. It's the main reason I don't really hold a grudge against people liking
Alienware or other often flamed stuff. Sure, it's not for me, but what the hell
kinda lame place would the world be if everything were the same?

You go do that. And then you write a 1000 word essay and report back here.

Thanks mate. Yeah it will be pretty prominently placed within the case, so
getting this to match the rest of the build should make quite a difference.

Great job alpenwasser.
I can't wait to see the final build on this project , are you also going to be painting the case for this masterpiece ?
When you are finally finished you should enter it in a contest , this build can easily win the most detailed.

Neither can I...

Nah, the case will stay black. I don't really see the point of introducing another
colour into the mix, and if there's a part of the case which I want in copper, it would
be easier (and more awesome ) to simply make a new one from actual copper
rather than painting the alu part.

Besides, I couldn't do a proper enough job of it anyway, so I'd have to give it to a
professional, which would mean spending quite a bit more money.

Haha, I was actually nominated to be nominated (yeah, not a typo) for mod of the
month on OCN, but since they only allow builds to enter which haven't been posted
on any other sites I wasn't eligible. Still, that was pretty awesome. Also, Caselabs
are currently holding a build competition on OCN, but my build will be nowhere
near ready by the deadline, so that's not going to happen either. But hey, there's
always the future...

Some very nice work, love the lacing and looming of the cables.
Hard to make out the colour in the loom, (my crappy monitor), is it a copper or more like a Khaki?

Also, I picked a crap time to finally get the Copper and Mate Black themed build out of my system. Nothing like starting out and seeing the simply amazing work someone like you is producing a few posts away.

Made a note in my Project diary, simply said "Bugger"

Thanks for the kind words!

It's more like Khaki than copper (the retailer labeled it as tan). The original
plan was to use actual copper shielding for the wires (the kind used for audio
cables), but for one thing that stuff is very expensive, secondly it's a lot trickier
to work with than paracord and thirdly I could not find any in the correct diameter,
so I scrapped that idea.

The difference between the paracord and actual copper will probably be clearer
once I take some proper pics with actual copper parts inside and you can see them
right next to each other.

Despite it being not really copper I still think it matches fairly well into the overall
colour scheme and I'm quite happy with it (I better be, replacing it would be a
hilariously masochistic undertaking ).

Well, it's not exactly like I invented the concept, PrometheusCU was amazing
people when I was still in diapers (well, not quite, but you get my point).

Again, thanks for the compliments. I gotta say, NZXSPC ain't exactly something
to sneeze at either, I'm still seriously itching to properly colour-coordinate my M/B
as you did, that paint job you did on yours really impressed me. What's prevented
me from doing it so far is that I'm not entirely sure I could afford to replace the SR-2
if I corked things up.

But who knows, maybe at some point the itch will just grow too strong. I definitely
don't like how the SR-2's PCI-E and RAM slots look, they're not a very nice shade
of red (more salmon/pink-ish, as Tom said about the SR-X's slots in his review of
that board), and even if they were they still wouldn't fit the colour scheme.

First world problems, eh?

Oh, I'm confident your project will not disappoint (and not because expectations are
low, quite the opposite ).

I'm definitely happy to get more company in the copper/black club. See you around.
