Nvidia's GTX 1080 is now available for £399.98 in the UK

I would buy a blower. They are better for SLI for one. And I always preferred exhausting heat back outside a case instead of around the interior waiting for chassis fans to exhaust it.

so what still £90 over priced still rocking on 2 asus maritx 980 tis can play all new games at 144 mhz screen so why would speend £6.000 to upgrade for 20 fps lol has the world gone NUTSSSSSSSSSSSS

For 10 series i would rather go used now. There are many out there, and lots of them still in warranty.

£90 over priced? What are you smoking!?

No he is right. They weren't that much more than this ages ago. They should be around £300 now, IMO. The 1080 is an old card, and a year from now it will be out of date.

I wouldn't pay £400 for one. I would not fall for Nvidia's trick tbh. They've over priced Turing to make Pascal look cheaper, but common sense deciphers it isn't really cheap. Not any more.

I am more excited about AMD's refresh of Polaris tbh, as I feel most of the value will be there. It may also serve to bring prices down a bit, even though it may seem insignificant.

Try and remember Nvidia have made a huge mistake here, not us. I would rather wait to see them pay for that mistake, rather than paying for it myself. Buying these cards at these prices only gets them off the hook for over producing cards for miners. That they thought they could charge stupid money for like the greedy pigs they are.

Where were Nvidia a year ago when people needed a new GPU but could not afford one?

People have awfully short memories in the world of computing. Which is strange, given the IQ level required is usually above average. All common sense seems to go to the wall with bragging power, though.

At 2000+ solid?

1995 but close enough

I agree on the Nvidia blower though. My first card hit thermal peak and throttles back. But Gainwards GPU is clocked higher from factory, and the blower is far more efficient. They obviously did something right.
