The IO dies on EPYC 2nd Gen and Ryzen 3rd Gen. Who makes them on which node? AMD still used GlobalFoundries.
We can also add the X570 chipset to that list too.

Yeah AMD has a supply agreement with GlobalFoundries, currently the agreed terms only run up till the end of 2021(That GF are their main supplier for 12nm and above), but the agreement itself lasts till 2024. However both TSMC and GF rely on each other to an extent as few end products for consumers can rely on either one and neither even has the capacity in the mid term to take on all the others wins, this will probably end up settled out of court or with financial agreements, the only people that ever really "win" in these patent wars are the lawyers getting paid other worldly fees to argue technical semantics about the similarities of different things.

Both Foundries will be arguing in court rooms for the next 10 years, AMD is not going to care.

Injunctions can be made before a final ruling. These things aren't always just 10 years down the road kind of deals.

Agreed but in this case I think that however the judge rules, its going to go back and forth in appeals forever. Try and find a Judge that understands nm production and will be able to determine the difference between what is a copy right breach and simply the only way to produce transistors of this size. The only people in the court that are going to understand these disputes will be both GF and TSMC. I feel sorry for the Judge tbh, they'll be wrong whichever way they go.

Yeah, it still has the potential to become a nightmare. The fact that this case if in several countries also complicates things.
I hope a settlement can be agreed on here. TBH I have no idea what GF was thinking.
