FAO: MSIRawZ. RE: MSI 480 20% Cashback promotion query.

Hey Rawz,

I was just wondering if you could clear something up with me.

On this and the T&C, it says the promotion ends today i.e. 2nd December 2016. Link >> https://uk.msi.com/Promotion/radeon_cashback_q4_2016

However on the link below it says it's 9th January 2017, which date is correct please?

It's the 2nd mate (today). Thanks for letting me know. Hadn't realised HQ added that on the other page.

I'm glad I asked now, thanks for the info.

Hi,

I have another question about this promotion. On the rebate form it says:

"Please cut out the MSI barcode label (showing the S/N) from the colour box"

For me it would be a shame to cut up my new box all for just a barcode & QR code, when I can just take a clear high quality image of the codes and attach that instead. I also imagine it would cause some issues if I were to send the card back, what with a large amount of important info now missing from the box.

Will a clear photo be acceptable evidence to prove it's my box? I am after all providing my order invoice along with it to show authenticity. Any clarification on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Been a few days now with no response, does anyone know a better place to contact an MSI rep?

You're getting cash back so if they say cut out the barcode - cut out the barcode.

They have to ensure nobody buys one, photographs it +invoice and processes the claim and then returns the GPU for a full purchase price refund to the retailer.

It's ripe for fraud so they're pretty strict.

I'm sure it wouldn't affect any warranty or RMA.

Sorry for the delay - been out traveling the country.

This is correct. Unfortunately there are those who like to take advantage of such promotions and return the items back to the place of purchase and still get cashback. By removing the SN from the box, this deters resellers from accepting the mobo back so soon after purchase as they know people do this. We advised each reseller already if this happens to keep an eye out.
